Can Goji Help You See Better?
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is one of the most common eye diseases of elderly
individuals. It has been suggested that lutein and zeaxanthin may reduce the risk for AMD. Surprisingly, oleoresins
rich in zeaxanthin are not yet available on the market. (Until now).
A study on humans was designed to assess the concentration of zeaxanthin in the blood after the consumption of
a single dose of native zeaxanthin palmitate from Goji.
Independent of the consumed diet, zeaxanthin concentrations increased significantly and peaked after 9-24 hours.
